A Look at My TBR List

I am so very sorry that I have only posted like once this month. This month has been absolutely insane for me. I’ve had after-school rehearsals all most every day for my schools A Midsummer Night’s Dream production (we open in less then a week!!!), a LOT of end of school-year exams (taking one of my algebra exams today.. :/ ), I’ve had more homework than I can humanly keep up with, one of my classmates passed away (r.i.p. Marcus), and I’ve been sick for about the past week. How fun. I hope to start posting more again soon, but no promises. But anyways..

I wrote out my to be read list for all of the books that I want to get to reading sometime soon and it is very very long. I think last time I counted it has 53+ books on it, and I’ve added books on since then. So let’s get into…

Don’t judge my bad graphics.. I’m working on it.

Brace yourselves, this isn’t everything but it still might be a lot to take in!

  • The Heroes of Olympus Series by Rick Riordan

I’m currently on chapter 17 of The Lost Hero right now, and its really good! I’m so excited to read the rest!

  • A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass

I love love love Wendy Mass books, and I can’t wait to read this one!

  • The Maze Runner series by James Dashner

My friend has been BEGGING me to read this, so I’ll get around to it, sooner or later.

  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

I’ve wanted to read this since it came out! Maybe I’ll actually get around to it someday soon!

  • The Fifth Wave Series by Rick Yancey

I read the first chapter of book one and gave up.. whoops.. I hope to try again relatively soon!

  • The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare

I picked the first and fourth books of this series at Goodwill a while ago and I’ve heard many things about this series and I can’t wait to get to it!

  • The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

This sounds so cool, and I’ve only heard great things about it!

  • The Mysterious Benedict Society books by Trenton Lee Stewart

I’ve heard about the greatness of this from several reliable sources and I hope it doesn’t take too long for me to get to it!

  • Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children Trilogy by Ransom Riggs

This seems so cool!

  • Everything, Everything & The Sun is also a Star, both by Nicola Yoon

A movie is coming out for Everything Everything soon, and the covers are really pretty so I’m definitely going to read these (eventually)

  • All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

This has been recommended to me many a time so I plan on reading it!

Have you read any of these books? Are you planning on it? Do you have a to-be-read list? What’s on it?

7 Ways to Calm Anxiety

Anxiety and stress are very familiar things in my life right now, especially with me being in my school play and having final exams coming up! So here are some of the main things I do to calm down, hopefully they can help you!

  • Adult/ Detailed Coloring Book

You can get one of those really detailed adult coloring books, or even just print out a detailed coloring sheet, and you could spend hours coloring it and it just relaxes you so much! Also I would recommend coloring with colored pencils and/or fine tip markers, you probably shouldn’t use crayons. I know this doesn’t work for everyone, but it definitely helps me!

  • Music

Whether its listening to music, or making music, music almost always calms me down. I love listening to soundtracks from musicals and albums (comment if you want recommendations) and I love making music as well. The most freeing instruments I’ve come across so far have definitely been piano and ukulele. All though I also love playing low brass instruments. And I haven’t tried it yet, but a drum set seems like it would help.

  • Reading

I love love love reading. You can get lost in the story so easily and just completely forget about all of life’s problems. Its great. I also have book recommendations if you need it!

  • Prayer/ Quiet Time

God will always be the best way to find peace. So maybe try to take some time out of your day to just stop and talk to God in silence. It definitely helps.

  • Fidget Cube

If you don’t know what these  are, Google them and then buy one on Amazon because OH MY GOODNESS these are a life saver! Especially if you can’t sit still during class!

  • Journal-ing (pretty much just writing)

Writing in general is very freeing, but I prefer writing in journals because it doesn’t take a lot of effort, you just kind of right everything you think of.

  • Exercise

I know y’all probably don’t want to hear this but exercising does help to get your mind off of things. Its true.

  • Create.

Creating anything helps. Whether its creating a story, a song, and picture and secret hand shake with someone. Creating anything at all helps calm me down a lot. Just create.

I hope these helped at least one person out there!

Also a huge shout out to Kiki for making my new sign-off!

Bye y’all!,

Fairies are Time-Consuming

Salutations, frens!

As some of you may know, I am currently in my school’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare, and I am cast as a fairy! We have 5 weeks to put on the show (right now is week 2) so rehearsals are pretty much everyday. And then in the time when I’m not rehearsing I’m trying to get homework and assignments done so my grade in math doesn’t go back down to a C.. Also final exams start next week! :/ So yeah. I’m pretty stinkin’ busy. So if I don’t post for like a month or something (hopefully its just a couple weeks) this is why. It is entirely the fault of the public education system, and my love for theater. I will try my best to keep up with posting regularly for the next month, but no promises.

Thanks for understanding,

p.s. Thanks again to Kiki for my new sign-off!
